FAQs

1 / What is recovery coaching and how is it different from therapy?

Recovery coaching is not therapy. I don't diagnose, treat, or provide clinical care. What I offer is compassionate, practical support for the everyday reality of recovery. For the stuff that happens outside of a clinical setting. I focus on the here and now, and help you to take steps towards the future. I work alongside therapy and medical care, not instead of it. If you're currently working with a therapist or dietitian, coaching can complement that work beautifully.

2 / Do I need to have a diagnosed eating disorder to work with you?

No. Your struggle is valid whether or not you have a formal diagnosis. If you have a difficult relationship with food and/or your body, regardless of whether you have a formal diagnosis, you deserve support. You don't need a label to make your experience real.

3 / Do you work online or in person?

Both! I work with clients in person in Cork and online with people anywhere in the world. Sessions are 60 minutes and take place online or in a location that feels comfortable for you.

4 / How do I know if coaching is right for me?

The best way to find out is through a free 30 minute discovery call. There's no pressure or commitment, just a conversation to see if my approach feels like a good fit for where you are right now.

5 / How frequently should we meet?

That depends on where you are and what you need. Most clients find meeting weekly or fortnightly works well, particularly at the start. As things settle and you build confidence in your own recovery, we can adjust the frequency to reflect that. There is no fixed schedule you have to commit to. We figure it out together based on what feels right for you.

6 / How long does coaching last?

That depends entirely on you and what you're looking for. Some people work with me for a few months, others for longer. We start with an open conversation about what you need and build from there. There's no fixed programme you have to commit to upfront.
